๐Ÿ”ด Go Live & Hope 4 da Best

There are a buncha tools at your disposal for playin' live. Instead of bein' lazy & givin' you only ONE way to perform these functions, OnSong is all like "here are ALL the options" so you can customize your live performance 'til the cows come home. These options are divided into the followin' major categories:

Backing Track Shenanigans

Mess with how your backing tracks get played back. Y'know, if you're into that sorta thing.

Autoscroll Magic

Tweak how autoscroll does its thing. Because apparently scrollin' isn't hard enough without OPTIONS.

Chord Playback Wizardry

Configure when & how chords get bleepin' played back using the optional soundbanks or MIDI. Fancy.

External Video Stuff

Use these settings to actually make your setup work if you're projectin' lyrics, creatin' a virtual music stand or just want to mirror your iPad screen like it's 2015 or somethin'.

Live Bar Toolbar Thingy

The live bar is basically your remote control with giant buttons that let you toggle common playback options without squishin' your actual fingers. Pick which ones you wanna see in the lower right corner. You're welcome.

Metronome Click of Doom

The metronome lets you play to a click track or, y'know, practice like a responsible musician. Set up how it sounds, looks & acts so it doesn't drive you bonkers.

Vocal Cues Announcer Bot

Vocal cues can announce OnSong events through your in-ear monitors in case you weren't already gettin' enough voices in your head. Configure what this robot actually says in here.

Sound Effects Ding-Dongs

OnSong can play back audio reinforcement to certain actions like flippin' pages or connectin' an external video device. Fair warnin': it's off by default because we care about your sanity.

Run In Background

When you close OnSong, put the screen to sleep or ditch us for another app, OnSong gets all sad & sleepyโ€”as long as no backin' tracks or metronome are currently playin'. This totally shuts down everything includin' networkin' (OnCue & OnSong Connect), MIDI, OnSong Console, Scenes & basically all the cool stuff.

You can change this sad behavior to:

  • Never will literally kill OnSong the second you leave it by headin' home, switchin' apps or lockin' the screen. If audio is playin'? STOPPED IMMEDIATELY. No mercy.
  • When Playing Audio is the default & will keep OnSong runnin' in the background as long as backin' tracks or the metronome are actually goin'. This lets OnSong play audio with other apps without havin' a meltdown.
  • Always keeps OnSong runnin' forever & ever in the background like some kinda obsessed ex. Use this if you want OnSong to keep sendin' & receivin' MIDI events, changin' scenes, respondin' to OnCue or OnSong Connect events or lettin' OnSong Console do its thing. It's efficient, sure, but your battery is gonna hate you.
