Read The Bleepin’ Manual
Song Peeper
The song viewer pane shows ya how your song's gonna look inside OnSong. Scroll around all you want—it's literally your whole jam right there. Flip stuff on & off using the toolbar like you actually know what you're doin'.
Note: If you're peepin' at a file that ain't text-based, lol, it's literally up to your web browser if it even *wants to show it to you. Most browsers will flex their PDF muscles & display 'em no problem, but Word docs & other fancy stuff? Yeah, those get downloaded to your computer so you can open 'em in some other app like a peasant.*
Gimme That Low Light Energy
Smack this button to toggle low light mode on & off. Not only does it show you how your chord chart looks all moody & atmospheric in the preview, but when you save, your host device gets all dark & mysterious too. Romantic, innit.
Pages
Click here to toggle between viewin' your chord chart like it's printed on actual paper. Basically it'll chop up your song based on whatever Page Layout settings you tortured yourself settin' up. Great for pretending you know what it'll look like when it prints!
Lead
Turn on lead & suddenly Console becomes the puppet master. Every move you make—changin' songs, scrollin', pickin' sections—happens on the host device too. Basically you're remote-controlling another iPad, iPhone or iPod touch like some kinda tech wizard.
Follow
Flip on follow & Console will load whatever song is currently vibin' on your host device. Plus the screen'll scroll along with literally everything the device does. Handy when you actually wanna know what song is loaded on the thing, I guess.
Heads up: follow might ghost you if your network's got web sockets blocked. Try turnin' Console off & back on again & refresh your browser like you're tech support for your own life.
Flex Your Style
Opens & closes the Style Palette so you can make your song look however you want in the preview & on the device. Go wild. Or don't. We don't judge.
Chord Chaos
Opens & closes the Chords Palette where you can transpose, capo, & mess with how chords & diagrams show up. It's like playin' musical chairs but with actual music.
View As...
When you're starin' at external files like a PDF, this throws the PDF in the preview pane. You can bounce between that & the text version of your song just like the Use the imported file instead of OnSong toggle in the Conversion Toolbar over in the Song Editor. Thrilling stuff.
Download This Thing
Click the down arrow to pick a format to download your chord chart in. The host device does the heavy liftin', so make sure you save first or cry about it later.
Print (Good Luck)
Smash the print button & your host device'll make a print-ready PDF & send it to your printer. It'll ask you to save your changes before printin' because it's like, responsible or whatever.
