Read The Bleepin’ Manual

The Bleepin' Pencil

The text editor is basically a big bleepin' box where you can scribble whatever you want. Type your stuff in there & watch it magically appear in the song viewer (though it'll keep goin' until you actually hit Enter like a civilized human). When you're finally done messin' around, tap Done in the top-right corner to save your masterpiece & close this thing. Changed your mind? Hit Cancel in the top-left & your changes go poof. Tap cancel on a brand new annotation & it vanishes entirely. Srsly.

Ditchin' It

Wanna nuke your text? Tap the trash can icon & prepare for a confirmation popup (you know, in case your finger has a mind of its own). Once it's gone, it's GONE. No backsies.

Makin' It Fancy

Tap the sliders icon to unlock the Text Style Menu & customize how your annotation looks. Make it sparkle. Make it pop. We dunno, do your thing.

Action Shenanigans

You can make your text annotation do stuff. But heads up—if you assign actions, it might get in the way of actually touchin' the thing. Double-tap action? Now you gotta edit it the hard way. Good news tho—use two fingers (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) to summon a context menu & edit it like a boss.

Lock It Down

By default, you can tap & drag annotations around or use two fingers to resize & rotate 'em like you own the place. Turn on Position Lock & suddenly you're frozen. Can't move. Can't scale. Can't rotate. Gesture control? Gone. You can toggle this on & off in the editor tho, so it's not permanently tragic.

Default Drip

Wanna set how your text annotations look by default? Head to Settings » Menu Settings » Annotations » Text & lock in your vibe.

Note: On smol devices like iPhone or iPod touch, the keyboard might be hogging all the real estate & blocking your toolbar. Tap the menubar at the top to squish that keyboard & get your life back.
